Linden tree is found in North America, East coast of Canada and East United States. Their forested area are important, but it has a scarce production or export. It is also Known as Tilo Tree.
The sapwood is creamy-white or brown pale, and the heartwood changes from creamy-white to reddish brown pale. That is a graduate change.
Linden has a straight streak and a slight grain.
It is a strong wood but indeed, has an easy machining. It has a very fast drying, due to it tends to bend.
Rustic Sobriety
Crown cut shows us the first bundles from a log because it is sliced over the heart. That produces the so-called cathedral structure, so much sought after in crown cut bundles and that raises its natural essence.
Linden wood is one of the best choice to carve, so it is a uniform and soft wood. But it is also used to joinery, cabinetmaking or furniture, or to make plywood, boxes, or food containers. Of course, it is a good option for decorative veneer.
This veneer moves between a clean and simply look, and a country style. Linden has a slim texture but its streak colour provides it of personality and support the organic character of veneer material.
A wood walks from contemporary and rustic ambient, and will let you experiment the wood feeling in a middle point between warm and sobriety.
